You're likely already familiar with this product, as similar versions have been released from Kato before, but I'd like to emphasize the fact that the Ver. 2 kits have a different color LED much closer to the warm white of an incandescent bulb, whereas previous kits had an almost blue hue that could be changed to a warmer color by use of an included color filter. If you add the included optional color filter to the Ver. 2, the warm white light becomes a much more yellow, almost orange color, perfect for modeling early passenger cars. Highly recommended addition to N-scale passenger cars.
Once installed, you will need to be meticulous in cleaning your track, wheels, and any electrical pickups on your cars. This was the cause of flicker on my setup, but good track work and clean contacts fixed it. There are also a couple posts on train forums for simple capacitive circuits you can add to the car if flicker remains a problem. Have fun!

This is a super companion for Kato passenger cars... Very easy to install, gives a nice steady lighting to each car, and the purchase of the six-pack lighting kit is your best value! I recommend!
Kato has made this hobby really fun! I do suggest watching a video on YouTube on how to install these. It takes about 5 minutes to install these, and they are actually really easy to install! If you run your train on DC, the lights will stop when the train stops. When you apply throttle, the lights will come on. They will remain illuminated if you run your train on DCC as the electrical current on the tracks is steady. Its alot of fun, and I highly recommend these light kits!
A well engineered product that enhances Kato passenger cars.
A well engineered product that allows you to light up to 6 Kato n scale passenger cars with a bright white light typical of modern equipment. If you want a yellower light use the model 11-214 kit.
These lights are great, but the light bar needs to be glued down to the posts that stick up above the seats of the passenger cars and butt the light bar right up against the LED light. Do this and the light will be evenly distributed in the passenger cars.
A little "fiddly" to install because the windows and light panel tend to fall out when reassembling the car, yet nothing that can't be handled with tiny drops of superglue and patience.
