Aquatic weed cutter is very simple and very sharp. Simply tie the rope onto your wrist or hold it in your hand 2. Toss the Weed Cutter into the water and allow the tool to sink 3. Pull or tug on the rope in a jerking and upward motion 4.
I was impressed by the quality of materials this item is made from. The blades are very sharp and a sharpener is included just in case. The assembly instructions could be a bit more clear they were 1 page printed in low resolution. The product does work very well. It cut through lake grass and under water weed patches very easily. You can hold the cutter in hand or use the supplied rope to throw the cutter out deeper and cut a path as you retrieve it. Weed clumps float to the surface where you can rake them out.
Works great on lily pads! It is a workout to use but is the most efficient tool for the job. Money well spent. Cleared a path for the boat and then some. Before and after pics:
This is my first review. The only reason I took the time to review the Pond Weed Cutter is because it is the first thing I have bought on Ebay that really met all of my expectations. I had originally tried to buy the Weed Razer, direct from the website, but, there were problems on the site using Pay Pal. The Pond Weed Cutter was a lot cheaper than buying the Weed Razer, so I decided to try it. My criticisms of the Pond Weed Cutter are these: The rope that comes in the kit is too short, and it is too stiff to be useful. The assembly directions are also confusing. Beyond that, the Weed Razer exceeded my expectations. My lake had a weed that resembles hydrilla. The weed is soft and grows to the surface. Then, it mats across the top of the water. It's very dense. In the past, I've used a 48" section of steel bed frame that I would throw out into the lake and retrieve. It did a really good job of grabbing weeds, but it was heavy, and it would pull in so many weeds that it was tough to pull out of the water and clean off. The Weed Razer is much lighter, so I can throw it farther. When I pull it in, the weeds slide off the blades easily, which save a lot of time. The blades are very thin and sharp, so I can see how the Pond Weed Cutter would be effective for clearing Lilly pads, reeds, and cat tails. The Pond Weed Cutter won't haul the weeds out of the lake for you. That's still a tough job. But, overall, I was very satisfied.
Awesome weed razor product....it does what it says
Amazing, finally a product that does what it says and quickly too. Watch the videos on youtube to see the product in action and I will tell you that what you see is exactly what you get, it shaves the plants at the bottom and they simply float to the surface and a long pool net or even better to use the side scrubber attachment to rake the weeds in for disposal. EXCELLENT !!!
Worked perfect….we have curlyleaf pond weed and do fishing programs at our place with a local nature center….this tool has made it much easier to open areas to fishing for these events. Simple and effective.
I worked so hard trying to cut down the tall grass in our marsh but the cutter would just slide over the top of it. Very hard to get to the roots and didn't work well on those either. This may be the perfect tool for lily pads and such but did not work for what I had to do.
