This watch was a unicorn - new 8 in the box just as the 10 was announced. Honestly I don't know what more I need. Does all the fancy stuff from my gen1 Apple watch, plus always-on. Connects to my iPhone with better clarity than the gen1. Has better battery life; adds maybe 1/2 a day to a single charge. When the gen1 battery swelled and died, I tried to live without it. Lasted maybe a month and I missed checking weather, date, etc. with a glance at my wrist. My iPhone would ring and I looked at my wrist (which no longer had an Apple watch). I added a protective film for the lens, and a nicer looking case/link band. I have "fancy" analog watches, but wear this daily. VERY happy. To anyone, an 8, or more likely a new 9, would please most anyone.
I upgraded from a well loved series 5. The series 8 is phenomenal. The battery life is considerably longer than that of my prior watch. I highly recommend the Apple series 8 watch.
