Try not to spit out your coffee as you check the price of the Diamondback Tactical FFP after reading about its impressive performance and features. A side adjustable parallax gives shooters peace of mind by removing parallax error from the equation from 10 yards to infinity.
The turrets don't exactly like up and they are a little sqishy but they are still effective and you get used to it. Other than that this thing is amazing. Holds zero, the magnification is clear, and the turret adjustments are accurate. First focal plane is awesome if you need to take a quick shot and don't have time to adjust the turret. Yes a $1000+ scope will be better but this $400 scope can get the same job done. I have not come across a better scope for the money. I use this scope on an AR-10(DPMS) 6.5 creedmoor with an 18in Barrel. I use it for long distance target shooting and antelope hunting in the wife open planes of Wyoming. Last weekend I got my antelope at 400 yards with ease.
Vortex has always been known as a premium optic provider. In the world of optics Shooters did understand how a scope works crave a front focal plane. So that the radical is always in focus when adjusting the zoom. The vortex diamondback at a very reasonable price point of around $400 has a front focal plane and my model has a 6x24 zoom and a 50 mm objective lens. And the excellent construction you would expect from Vortex
Buying another Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 Scope for my other rifle, it's that good.
I bought this second hand, and fitted it to my Tikka 243, then bore sighted it. It hit the bulls eye from 100m straight off. The photo sent, was shot once the barrel had warmed up and is three shots, yes THREE. These are my own hand loads, Hornady 90grn ELD-X bullets over 42grns powder in Whinchester cases.
This is a 5 star scope, because at its price-point, it is a contender with the higher end scopes. I live in a medium sized country town, and I can see clearly all the way across town. I was very skeptical about this purchase, because I am putting it on a rifle that deserves quality. But after sighting it in I am glad I didnt spend the extra $1000 on what I had in mind.
This is my 2nd Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50. I have DB10029 (True MOA) and now this one in MRAD. I really like the first focal plane reticles and how crystal clear the optics are. The magnification adjustment allows for seeing bullet placement without a spotting scope when sighting in. The ability to move the turrent scales to reset 0 without affectin the setting is a plus. I will be using the scopes for long range target shooting.
Nice and clear, great optics , fit perfectly on my 30mm mounts without using any shims or changing mounts that were already on rifle. However did come with new mounts and shims if needed.
This is a good quality optic especially at its price point. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get into long range shooting or to anyone looking for a good scope in the price range.
